Finally the Great Pyramids of Egypt got some amazing company. The new wonders are much younger, but also very interesting. The Great Wall of China won the vote.

The World Heritage Committee finalized 29 June 2007 this years additions to UNESCOs World Heritage List with the inscription of three new sites: Gamzigrad-Romuliana, Palace of Galerius (Serbia), Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (Azerbaijan), and Central University City Campus of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Mexico.

The World Heritage Committee inscribed 22 new sites on UNESCOs World Heritage List during its ongoing session in Christchurch. The new inscriptions include 16 cultural properties, five natural and one mixed, cultural and natural.

New countries who were represented on the travel fair are Slovakia, Panama, Peru, Latvia and Bulgaria. The Norge was open for public from Friday 12th Sunday 14th January. Representatives I talked were little bit disappointed due to the drop in number of visitors compared with previous the year, but I could observe a large number of visitors rushing in on Sunday afternoon.

I was delighted to observe that Peru was represented with its own stand this year, the tour operator Coex Amazon. Its so much undiscovered in the country, especially in the dense jungles. Coex Amazon is established and managed by a mixed marriage between Peru and Norway: Laura and Øyvind Wesseltoft. According to Lonely Planet it's the multicultural layers of great civilisations that make Peru so intriguing.

From his home in Drøbak, an idyllic maritime town 30 minutes south of Oslo, he receives visitors from all over the world.
