From the late 1890s, it was built a number of forts in Norway along the Swedish border from Kongsvinger in the north to Svinesund in the south. This was part of efforts to break Norway from the union with Sweden. If the dramatic negotiations broke, Norway was well prepared for a Swedish invasion. The Norwegian Santa Claus, Christmas nisse (julenissen), never let you down. As usual he showed up this Christmas Eve too. He didn`t climb down the chimney, but anyway he find his way into our house in Moss in Norway. Suddenly we could hear his voice saying ho ho, ho ho!
