Finland
The Republic of Finland is one of the Nordic countries. The country is inhabited of people with unique charm and guts that themself are a genuine tourist attraction.

Santa Claus, Rovaniemi, Finland, is ready for Christmas celebrations!

2007-11-24
The opening celebrations of the Christmas Season are taking place at the Santa Claus' Village in Rovaniemi Saturday 24th November 2007. In Santa Claus’ Village you can meet Santa Claus and cross the Arctic Circle all year round. The mysterious place Korvatunturi in Finnish Lapland is where Santa Claus lives with his helpers, the elves. For a long time ago he decided to meet people whole the year around.

Ho, Ho, Ho, are there any nice children here? That`s Santa Claus common question. From my first steps as I child learned what the correct answer was. Just like everybody else I love presents. I can still remember how exciting it was to wait for Christmas when I was a child. I still haven’t forgotten that feeling. The same feeling always arises in me when the Christmas season starts. I was so eager to meet Santa Claus this year that I couldn’t wait until Christmas, so I travelled up to the north in the Finnish Lapland to meat him. And of course I would like to make a wish. In beautiful and wild surroundings I finally meet the world most famous person. I had something to tell him.

Jippyyy. I know Santa`s address!!!

On this photo I make a wish to Santa Claus personally. I wait now a days for a original letter from Santa Claus from the Finnish Lapland.

In Rovaniemi you can delight your friends or yourself with a genuine greeting letter from Santa Claus! Hurry up Santa, I am waiting for your letter.

The Santa greeting Center is for  more than just a Christmas Greeting. Especially to foreigners it is a really special Christmas present!

Yes, I look forward to the surprise. I hope that Santa Claus controlls his logistics, or I have to call my Soumi friend Johnny the Elk in Rovaniemi.  He claims he is the Santa`s best friend, he hunts the elks (moose) and plays AC/DC. Would he ever play some Christmas music? For Johnny AC/DC is everything.

When Johnny  hunts, he rocks around in the forrest singing music from the hard rock band formed in Sydney, Australia, in 1973. Just to let you know, this band is considered as pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal, alongside bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. The Lordi from Rovaniemi in Finland, the European Song Contest winner, is also a hard rock band, who he likes to play  when his wife and children is far from their home, but that doesen`t scares Santa from showing up in Rovaniemi. Johnny knows the rock`n roll angels: HARD ROCK HALLELUJAH! He thinks he can attract elks, mooses, by playing AC/DC and Lordi, but that must be a big joke!

It`s best to meet Santa in the cold winter because there are now blood thirsty mosquitos at that time of the year.

Rovaniemi, located near the Arctic Circle, is Santa Claus’ hometown. I had the big pleasure to meet Santa Claus in there in his village. He was a big fat fellow with a huge smile behind his white bear, and a good sense of humour. It was strange for me to experience Christmas atmosphere in the summer season. It’s probably the only place in the world where Santa Claus show up in the summer and where you can listen to Christmas music, walk around Christmas threes, admire beautiful decorations, write Christmas letters, watch Christmas gifts and clap reindeers.

The place for the huge event 24th November is in the Santa Claus Village at the Arctic Circle. Santa Claus wil personally greet visitors, there will songs and fireworks, and the new Santa Claus Office will be opened. Experience the winterwonderland in the Finnish region Lapland, and join locals in celebration of Christmas based on their own traditions.

Santa Village in Rovaniemi, Finland

So beautiful, so wild, so mysterious - this is the place for Christmas. In addition to Santa, visitors will also meet nice people in Finland.

According to the people from Finland, the genuine Santa Claus has always lived far, far away at Korvatunturi in Finnish Lapland. The extraordinary thing about this is that the road to Korvatunturi is only known by Santa Claus himself, his elves and of course his trusted reindeer. When looking on a map one can easily find the location of Korvatunturi (483 metres high).

Korvatunturi, Rovaniemi in Finland, is where you’ll find Santa and his elves when they want to come out of their secret places and meet people. The magic of Christmas is reality there! If you would to like to see Santa Claus, you have to go there yourself, so that`s why we dont`t show any photos of him here.
