What a fantastic concert! The Østfold band Pulse of Floyd turned Verket Scene into an inferno of sounds and lights this evening. They recreated concerts of the legendary Pink Floyd. This very authentic show celebrated the 50th anniversary of the iconic album “Dark Side Of The Moon”. In addition Pulse of Floyd played several other songs of Pink Floyd. The Østfold band Pulse of Floyd, with its 10 musicians and vocalists, made this evening unforgettable.
One of classic rock's most acclaimed albums, is Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon. The album was released in March 1973, Its enduring popularity and influence have led to various celebrations, re-releases, and events commemorating its impact on music worldwide this year. The album The Dark Side Of The Moon has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.

The Pulse of Floyd took the audience on a magical journey summarizing the career of the British rock band Pink Floyd. The band members of the Pulse of Floyd are dedicated to honouring the iconic rock group through their music. They captured the sound and feel that is the magic of Pink Floyd, with a stunning light show and video animations. The repertoire spanned from Brain Damage to the haunting refrain of The Great Gig In The Sky, and to further to the universally loved anthems Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Another Brick in the Wall, and end with Comfortably Numb.
My highlight was the female vocalist contribution to “The Great Gig in the Sky.” Her performance was something beyond. It sends shivers down my spine each time I hear it. So it did this time too. It's a feat to evoke so much emotion with no words. The unique vocal technique used in “The Great Gig In the Sky” on the Dark Side of the Moon is known as vocal improvisation. It involves singing without specific lyrics or melody.
In my opinion Pulse of Floyd really succeed to recreate the album sounds from Pink Floyd's magnificent back catalogue, and the same time add their personal interpretation. For me Pulse of Floyd turned the “dark side of the moon” to “the bright side of the moon”. It was real inspiration and encouragement. Hopefully Pulse of Floyd fantastic performances can bring this music to new audiences.
