Moss, Norway - Wonderful view from old burial mounds on Røysåsen hill

Our round trip Røysåsen to Molbekk gave us a great experience of nature and history. On the top of Røysåsen Hill we could admire some burial mounds from the Bronze Age and get a incredible view beyond Mossesundet, Jeløy and surrounding parts of the town of Moss.

We venture into the wilderness in Moss, on Sunday 5th August 2012. First we ascended the Røysåsen hill, Roysasen, and so we walked down to the the ydillic small lake Molbekktjernet.

Here I and my children got a wonderful view toward the Oslo Fjord and the strait of Moss, Mossesundet. We could also look over to the island Jeløya.

These burial mounds have also been used as watch towers in the past.
