Norway - A time laps of stunning nature

2014-11-09

This is a time-lapse video resulting from the Norwegian Morten Rustad`s a 15,000 km (almost 10,000 miles) long road trip and tens of thousands of images taken along the way over the last 5 months. The journey has covered all of Norway’s 19 counties, from the far south to the Russian border in the Northeast.

Watched 150 000 times per day, according to the Norwegian news media Dagbladet 3d October 2014. The idea for making the video was that the photographer Morten Rustad would like to show his foreign friends how beautiful Norway is. It took him 15,000 miles per car and five months of hard work. The film has already received international attention, and in just one day is was seen nearly 150,000 times.

Morten got his idea when his was studying management at the University of Essex in England for few years ago. As he told Dagbladet in an interview (see article published 3rd October 2014): "I have been planning since then. It's a dream I've had for some time and now that I had the time and opportunity to do so I took the chance. Norway is a dream destination for photographers, with fjords and mountains, the midnight sun and Northern Lights".

The Aim of this 5 minute short film is to show the variety of Norway, everything from the deep fjords in the Southwest, to the moon landscape in the North, the Aurora Borealis - Northern Lights, and the settlements and cities around the country, both in summer and wintertime. The video shows some of the most scenic places in Norway, such as Lofoten, Senja, Helgelandskysten, Geirangerfjorden, Nærøyfjorden and Preikestolen.
