As the promoltion saId on the UNSAYS: Learn, Speak up, Act! is a global call for concrete action against racism, discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. The challenges posed by these problems are not new, neither are their solutions. What is needed is action – by governments, institutions, groups and individuals – all of us.
Remembering 22 July
On 22 July, we remember the 77 people who were killed in the terrorist attacks in Oslo and on Utøya in 2011. They were attacked by a right-wing extremist driven by hatred, racism and intolerance.
This day reminds us that hate must never be ignored or allowed to become normal. At Travel Explorations, we stand for openness, democracy and respect for all people. Our experiences travelling around the world have shown us that we have far more in common than what divides us.
We will never forget 22 July in Norway. Love and humanity must always be stronger than hate. This belief comes from our own experiences travelling around the world, not from the constant stream of negative stories in the media. Wherever we have travelled, we have met ordinary people who welcomed us with kindness, warmth and hospitality. These personal encounters have taught us that we share far more than what divides us.
25th anniversary of the DDPA
The Durban Declaration and Programme of Action is a global blueprint for racial justice and equality. Twenty-five years ago, it laid the foundation for much of today’s international work against racial discrimination. It outlined wide-ranging measures to end racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. It highlighted enslavement and colonialism as root causes of racism, and looked ahead to global challenges including widening inequalities and online hate. And yet, racism continues to poison communities, politics, media, sport, the online world and much more. And no country can claim to be free of it. We need determined action. The simple way forward is for states to implement their commitments under the Durban Declaration and Plan of Action.

Travel Explorations`mission
At Travel Explorations, we believe travelling should bring people closer together, and not drive them apart. Yet across the world, xenophobia, racism, antisemitism, anti-Muslim hatred and the persecution of Christians and other minorities are rising.
Hate speech is no longer confined to society’s fringes. It is spreading through social media, political rhetoric and extremist movements, turning migrants, refugees, women and minority communities into targets.
Travel teaches us that our differences are not something to fear, but something to understand and respect. Wherever we go, we share a responsibility to meet people with openness, curiosity.
At Travel Explorations, we want the best for all people around the world. We believe travel should build bridges, create understanding and bring people closer together. Everyone deserves to be met with respect, kindness and dignity, regardless of nationality, religion, culture, gender or background.
The world belongs to all of us, and its diversity is something to celebrate. Through travel, we hope to encourage openness, curiosity and a deeper respect for our shared humanity and dignity. Our common humanity must always be stronger than the forces seeking to divide us.
